“Dinner with Family and Friends”
Thursday, July 20, our daughter Angela prepared a lovely dinner and her boyfriend Matt, as well as our good friends Deb and Rick Fudge joined us and extended their wishes to us for a great trip. The next day Angela drove us to Toronto airport and she and Hayden waved goodbye.
We arrived in Calgary to spend a week visiting with our son Paul, daughter in law Ling and granddaughter Dahlia. The four hour flight was smooth and we landed at 5:00 to a warm welcome from Paul and Dahlia.
Ling couldn’t meet us at the airport because she had to work so she joined us at home.
We spent the next few days enjoying each others company and the warm Calgary weather. My sister Mary and husband Ern, who also live in Calgary, came over for dinner on Saturday night . After dinner we all played two friendly games of Texas Holdem and we did a lot of laughing and talking.
For the rest of the week we took the opportunity to just relax with Paul, Ling, Dahlia and Dozer, their young friendly energetic (hyperactive?) dog. It was fun to watch Dahlia and Dozer playing together and we especially enjoyed their wrestling matches.
All too soon it was time to leave but not before we visited our favourite restaurant, Cheesecake Cafe. We all ate lunch, had our favourite cheesecake(mine is cheesequake -yummy), and then off we drove to the airport. Our next stop was Ladysmith B.C. to visit Paul’s sister Marie and her husband Joe.
