When you come to China you have to register with the local authorities within 30 days of your arrival. Part of that registration is completion of a physical examination. They will approve it if you already have had one done in your own country – or so we thought.
This morning we went on the bus with Crystal, a young assistant in the foreign teachers department. We arrived at 8:30 and already there was a long line of people waiting to register. At 10:00 we were at the desk but they told us the documents we had were not sufficient since they were not stamped by the doctor. We tried to explain that doctors in Canada don’t have stamps but after some discussion between the attendant and Crystal we were told that if we supplied a copy of the various tests they would approve the application. Unfortunately those documents were back at the hotel since Crystal didn’t realize we would need them.
So sometime next week we have to make a return visit to the hospital, and hopefully this time we will be accepted. Wish us luck!
Whoa I thought maybe someone was sick with that title! Good luck in getting accepted
